BirdsEye album cover

Downbeat Switch are an aptly named Richmond, Virginia based rock band that was formed in 2002. After some lineup changes over the past few years, DbS have found their core group and honed their abilities and sound into a tightly knit, original phenomenon to call their own. The band’s funk, rock, soul, pop, and reggae infusion helped them stand out within the local music scene. Using extensive instrumental vamping, dynamic male and female vocal harmonies and powerful piano and guitar driven riffs, Downbeat Switch were able to develop a large and diverse following. The band’s front-woman, Jenna Be provides sultry, soulful vocals to compliment the band’s unique sound.

DbS have four independently produced CDs, “Funk Shui”-2004, “Seconds”-2005, “Run from the Sun”-2009 and an EP titled “The Red Door Sessions” in 2010, which featured Jenna Be on several previously recorded songs. The band released their most recent album, “BirdsEye” in 2013. “BirdsEye” is available for free at live shows and as a paid download on iTunes and other online music stores.

With this new album, we really strived to create a different and expanded sound and style for DbS. Many of our fans from way back will notice that with the addition of our new drummer, Rob Reardon and new keyboard player, Sean Reese, our sound has matured and diversified more than most would expect. We feel we really were able to strike more of an emotional chord with this album, and hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as we do.
